Kat Mustatea Brings New Augmented Reality Book Voidopolis to Indianapolis

The IAHI is pleased to announce three events with artist and transmedia playwright Kat Mustatea on November 8th and 9th, presented in collaboration with the Donald Tavel Arts and Technology Research Center. Kat is currently promoting the release of her book Voidopolis, a first-of-its-kind augmented reality book that combines text, image, and app in a profound meditation on loss, memory, and decay. Reinterpreting Dante’s Inferno to reflect the experience of wandering through a pandemic-ravaged New York City, Voidopolis uses altered stock photos and text produced by AI, then edited by a human, to think through the meaning of isolation in the era of artificial intelligence. We will have opportunities both on and off campus for you to hear from and talk with Kat about this unique work of art, and we would love for you to join us at any of the following sessions:

Wednesday, November 8, 10:30-11:45am: IT071 IT Building, Department of Music and Arts Technology.

Thursday, November 9, 12:30 – 1:30pm: Basile Auditorium, Eskenazi Hall, Herron School of Art and Design

Thursday November 9, 5:30-7 pm, Indy Reads Bookstore, 1066 Virginia Ave, Indianapolis
